About the RoleWe are seeking two dependable and proactive Lead Hands to join our production team, supporting either our Extrusion or Decoral Finishing operations.
The Lead Hand plays a key role in supporting daily production by providing leadership, ensuring quality control, maintaining machine efficiency, and guiding production personnel. This role works closely with the Supervisor to ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.
This position is based at our Abbotsford facility on Clearbrook Road, working 40 hours per week. The role begins with a training schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, transitioning to an afternoon shift between 2:00 PM and 02:30 AM.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a manufacturing environment, where you will balance team support, production coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent, high-quality output.

Qualifications & Experience:- 2+ years of production experience
- Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with leadership responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and support team members
- Proven ability in planning, organizing, motivating, controlling, and problem-solving
- Strong decision-making and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams
- Familiarity with safety policies including LO/TO and PPE requirements
- Ability to read and write English
- Ability to lift 35/50 lbs repetitively
- Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 or 14001:2015 environment is an asset
- ERP system knowledge is an asset
- Lean White/Yellow Belt certification or familiarity with Lean concepts is an asset
- Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of production operators, providing guidance on machine operations, troubleshooting, and quality control
- Support onboarding and training of new team members on safety protocols and machine procedures
- Production Oversight
- Coordinate daily production activities and ensure work orders are completed on time and according to specifications
- Monitor machine efficiency and adjust processes to maintain optimal production flow
- Quality Assurance
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications and standards
- Ensure correct profiles, finishes, and production sequences are followed
- Address quality issues promptly and work to reduce scrap
- Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Identify and resolve equipment or material-related issues impacting production
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime
- Safety Leadership
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure proper use of PPE
- Conduct daily safety checks and report hazards
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate production logs, quality reports, and shift summaries
- Communicate production status, machine performance, and issues to the Supervisor
- Ensure counts, labels, and data entry are accurate after materials leave the workstation
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance quality
- Provide feedback and suggestions to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Inventory & Material Coordination
- Ensure materials, logs, dies, and machines are prepared and queued for production
- Track material usage and report discrepancies

Benefits and Compensation- Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications starting from $27.00 - $30.00 per hour plus an afternoon shift premium where applicable.
