We are seeking a skilled and passionate Journeyman Boat Builder and Shipwright to join our team. This role involves all aspects of wooden boat construction, repair, and restoration, from lofting and framing to planking and finishing. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional boatbuilding techniques, as well as experience with modern materials and methods. A keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality craftsmanship, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Construct, repair, and restore wooden boats of various sizes and designs.
- Perform lofting, framing, planking, caulking, and finishing work.
- Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Work with a variety of materials, including wood, fiberglass, and epoxy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely project completion.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems related to boat construction and repair.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Boat Builder and Shipwright.
