Job Description
D&G Landscaping is hiring a Landscape Labourer (Softscape) to join our commercial construction team in Ottawa. This role focuses on commercialsoftscape installation and park development projects, including sod installation, garden bed construction, tree planting, and public space furnishings.
Key Responsibilities
- Install sod and topsoil, ensuring proper grading and finishing
- Build and maintain garden beds, including soil preparation, planting flowers, shrubs, and perennials
- Install mulch, erosion control blankets, and landscape materials
- Perform tree and shrub planting, including proper spacing, depth, and staking
- Assist with installation of park furniture and site amenities (benches, garbage cans, bollards, etc.)
- General site preparation and cleanup, including raking, shoveling, and material handling
- Operate basic hand tools and landscaping equipment safely
Requirements
- Experience in landscaping, construction, or general labour preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding outdoor work
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality
