Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MIG and Tig welding on various metals (primarily mild steel)
- Fit, position, and assemble custom metal components using blueprints and shop drawings
- Select proper materials and prepare workpieces for welding
- Set up and adjust welding machines according to job requirements
- Fabricate components from raw material through to final assembly
- Inspect welds and finished parts to ensure they meet production and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work closely with the plant leadership team to meet daily production goals
- 7+ years of hands-on MIG and Tig welding and fitting experience
- Strong experience in custom metal fabrication
- Ability to weld materials from 18-gauge to 1/8” thick
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings, and custom work orders
- Strong understanding of material selection and assembly processes
- Experience in other welding processes (TIG, flux-core, stick) is an asset
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
- CSA-approved safety shoes
- Welding helmet and welding gloves
