Human Resources Generalist
Location: Edmonton, AB (Hybrid: 2 days from home, 3 days onsite)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Summary/Objective
We are seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support a dynamic and growing organization. In this cross-functional HR role, you will own day-to-day HR operations, work closely with managers and employees, and help drive a positive workplace culture. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives on problem-solving, and is eager to make an impact across all HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and administer employee policies and promote positive employee relations.
  • Provide HR support and guidance to employees and managers on a variety of HR issues, including performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process: job postings, resume screening, interviews, and offers.
  • Lead new employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, upholding data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with benefits administration: manage enrollments, handle claims, and answer employee questions.
  • Support leaves of absence, accommodation requests, and disability management.
  • Coordinate and support employee performance reviews, feedback cycles, and goal setting.
  • Report and track HR metrics (absence, turnover, engagement, etc.) to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Support disciplinary actions, assist with investigations, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with employment standards, labour laws, and internal policy.
  • Respond to internal and external HR-related inquiries or requests and provide assistance.
  • Develop, update, and communicate HR procedures and policies to ensure best practices.
  • Assist with workplace health, safety, and wellness initiatives.
  • Organize and participate in employee events, engagement activities, and culture-building programs.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvements as assigned.
  • Other duties as required by business needs.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelors degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2+ years experience in HR, ideally in a generalist or coordinator capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and recruitment platforms.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information with professionalism.
  • Problem-solving mindset and adaptability to changing business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
