Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and driven Purchasing Manager to lead our North American procurement function. This role is responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities for both service parts and new equipment manufacturing, ensuring we secure the right materials, from the right suppliers, at the right cost, quality, and delivery performance. The successful candidate will develop sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier relationships, improve purchasing processes, and collaborate closely with our teams in North America and France. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a key function within a growing international organization. Key Responsibilities and What You'll Do 1. Procurement Strategy & Execution * Develop and execute purchasing strategies that support service parts and North American equipment manufacturing. * Analyze spend, consolidate suppliers where feasible, and build a competitive, reliable supplier base. * Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO). 2. Supplier Management * Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers that meet performance, quality, and compliance requirements. * Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity, reliability, and continuous improvement. * Implement supplier scorecards, performance reviews, and development plans. * Lead risk mitigation strategies to reduce single-source or high-risk dependencies. 3. Cross-Regional Collaboration * Act as the main point of contact for procurement alignment between North America and France. * Coordinate purchasing needs, forecasts, and sourcing opportunities across regions. * Ensure consistent procurement processes and communication with French counterparts. 4. Quality & Compliance * Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure purchased materials meet specifications and certification requirements. * Participate in supplier audits, qualifications, and corrective action initiatives. * Support compliance with regulatory, safety, and industry standards. 5. Cost Optimization * Identify and lead cost-saving initiatives across materials and services. * Support value engineering efforts and alternative sourcing strategies. * Drive competitive bidding and contract renegotiation when appropriate. 6. Process & Continuous Improvement * Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, and supplier information within the ERP system. * Improve procurement workflows, lead times, and inventory-related planning practices. * Champion Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methods within the purchasing function. 7. Leadership & Collaboration * Support and mentor junior purchasing staff or cross-functional partners as needed. * Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Planning, and Finance to support production and organizational goals. * Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and procurement-related reporting. Education * Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field. * Professional certifications (CSCP, CPIM, CPSM) are an asset. Experience * 5–7+ years of progressive procurement or purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. * Strong negotiation and supplier management experience. * Proven track record in cost reduction, contract management, and strategic sourcing. * Experience collaborating cross-functionally, ideally within a global or multi-site environment. * Familiarity with quality systems and engineering collaboration is an asset. Skills * Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset. * Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building abilities. * Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and procurement tools. * Solid understanding of procurement best practices, inventory principles, and compliance requirements. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Work Environment * Hybrid role with both office and supplier-engagement responsibilities. * Occasional travel within North America and international travel (including to France) for supplier visits and collaboration.
