Charter Services – servicing Northwestern Ontario and North Central USA. Flight Training – providing all levels of fixed wing pilot licensing and ratings. Aircraft Maintenance – AMO services providing a wide range of aircraft maintenance service in support of KBM flight operations and a selection of outside customers. KBM Aviation is seeking a skilled and motivated Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) for a 6-month contract with the potential for extension. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, can work independently, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of aircraft safety and reliability. The successful candidate will provide AOG support, perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, and carry out aircraft repairs as needed. You will be primarily supporting operations involving Piper Navajos, Beech King Air, and turbine and piston engine aircraft. The position is located in Thunder Bay (YQT) with shift from Monday-Friday, 8:00 to 16:00. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and on-call as required. Required - Certification as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, M1 license required (M1 and M2 license preferred) together with a minimum of 3-years' experience - Piston, Rolls Royce 250 and PT6 turbine engine experience. - Experience in maintaining Air Tractor, Cessna Caravan, Cessna 206, Beech King Air, Piper Navajo aircraft. - Superior organizational skills. - Avionic license is an asset. - Effective verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency with MS Word, and Excel. - Experience with customer service and client communication. - Strong leadership and mentorship skills, including the ability to direct, motivate, evaluate and recognize staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others. - Competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health & Safety Act - Must have own tools. - Strong ability to work independently and efficiently. - Excellent troubleshooting and technical skills. - Commitment to safety, professionalism, and timely maintenance support. Supportive and safety-focused work environment. Duties and responsibilities: Complete all AOG maintenance for customers Ensures accurate aircraft maintenance paperwork. Responsible for upkeep, and security of the hangar and company equipment. Keeps current with Transport Canada regulatory requirements. Fulfills the duties of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, and undertakes other related duties as assigned. Leads by example demonstrating corporate values in an enthusiastic manner to achieve results individually and through team participation. Identifies ways for continuous improvement of processes. Coordination of maintenance activities completed away from base. Must be willing to travel to repair or conduct inspections. Working conditions Most of the time work is performed in heated shop space and occasionally, outside in changing weather conditions. Must wear appropriate PPE.
