Pump Mechanic / Fire Pump Service Technician
$40–$55/hr | Full-Time | Company Truck | Benefits
We're looking for a solid Pump Mechanic to join our team — someone who knows pumps, understands mechanical systems, and isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. If you've worked on industrial pumps, diesel-driven equipment, HVAC pumps, wastewater pumps, or anything similar, you'll have an easy time picking this up. Fire pumps are unique, but at the end of the day... they're pumps. We can teach you the fire-specific stuff.
In this role, you'll be installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing fire pump systems (electric & diesel) in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. When these systems are needed, they MUST work — so your skills really matter.
What You'll Do
- Install, test, and service fire pumps, controllers, and related equipment
- Perform flow tests, pressure checks, inspections, and troubleshooting
- Handle routine maintenance: oil changes, lubrication, cleaning, alignment, parts replacement
- Diagnose pump, motor, controller, valve, or electrical issues
- Keep accurate service notes and stay on top of code requirements (we'll train you)
- Work directly with customers and explain what's going on in plain English
- Rotate into on-call for emergency pump issues
What You Bring
- Experience as a Pump Mechanic — ANY pump background is welcome
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, motors, and troubleshooting
- Able to read manuals, drawings, and basic electrical information
- Valid G Licence and a clean driving record
- Comfortable lifting 50+ lbs and working in tight or varied environments
- Someone who takes pride in doing the job right and keeping people safe
What You'll Get
- $40–$55/hr depending on experience
- Overtime pay
- Company truck or auto allowance
- Health & dental benefits
- Paid time off
- Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM–4:30 PM)
- A role where your mechanical skills directly protect lives and property
