Full Time Patrol Officer - Mississauga Hospital

Schedule: Rotating Continental (08:00–20:00 / 20:00–08:00)

As a Full-Time Patrol Officer with Paladin Security, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, and staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

• Conduct routine patrols throughout hospital premises, including hallways, parking areas, entrances, exits, and patient rooms.
• Operate and monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and related technology to identify and respond to suspicious activity.
• Control access to restricted areas and ensure that only authorized personnel enter designated zones.
• Respond rapidly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security threats; assist hospital staff as needed.
• Provide assistance, directions, and courteous support to visitors, patients, and hospital staff.
• De-escalate conflicts, manage difficult situations, and maintain professional communication under pressure.
• Document daily activities and complete detailed incident reports, security logs, and safety assessments.
• Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure coordinated safety measures.
• Enforce hospital policies and visitor protocols while maintaining a patient-centered and safety-focused approach.

Requirements

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• Proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations
• Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
• English fluency (oral and written)
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
• Comfortable working with a clean-shaven face during shifts (required for mask fit testing)
• Ability to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire
• Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)*
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

*Training for UOF/MOAB is not paid, but Paladin covers costs with a 6-month commitment to the position.

• Previous healthcare security experience
• Diploma in Justice Studies or Police Foundations
