Machinist

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

· Set-up and operate to prescribed tolerances: conventional engine lathes and milling, grinding, drilling, tapping, sawing, boring machines and some assembly work.

· Set up, operate and maintain a variety of conventional machine tools

· Compute dimensions and tolerances and confirm compliance of work pieces

· Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using jigs and precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, calipers, etc.)

· Fit and assemble components and machined parts to close tolerance

· Clean and maintain production machinery and tools

· Maintain and repair machine tools, parts, jigs and fixtures

· Help sustain and continually improve 5S practices

· Requisition spare parts and perishable tools/indexable components as required

· Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

· Experienced Machinist

· Minimum 2 years' experience

· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables

· Ability to communicate clearly, will be required to interact with other shop departments and Engineering staff

· Ability to independently work through problems that arise, relying on prior exposure, experience and established procedures/policies to determine the most appropriate course of action

· The incumbent understands, respects and adheres to the workplace Health and Safety rules and regulations and monitors co-workers adherence as well.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Full-Time: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
