Overview
This role supports a Construction Management company specialising in pre-engineered steel structure projects. The successful candidate will join a major heavy industrial LNG site, working on a remote rotation schedule (14 days on / 7 days off, 10-hour shifts). The project begins early January and is expected to run until July 2026, with the potential for extension.We are seeking experienced, proactive Construction Safety Officers who can provide strong site oversight, maintain compliance, and produce daily safe work plans.

Must Haves
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Construction Safety Officer (CSO).
- Valid CSO certification recognized in British Columbia.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough site inspections and identify hazards in heavy industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations and safety best practices.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy in safety documentation.
- Ability to write and deliver daily safe work plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with crews and site leadership.
- Ability to work effectively on a remote rotational schedule (14/7).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment in fast-paced construction settings.
Nice to Haves
- Experience working on LNG, petrochemical, or other heavy industrial projects.
- Previous exposure to pre-engineered steel structure construction environments.
- Incident investigation training or experience supporting root-cause analysis.
- Familiarity with digital safety management systems or field reporting software.
- Previous experience providing toolbox talks or safety training modules.
- Ability to support project controls teams with safety-related reporting or planning (if required).
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations on the construction site.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify, document, and mitigate hazards.
- Deliver safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks to site personnel.
- Develop and submit accurate daily safe work plans.
- Maintain comprehensive records of safety activities, documentation, and incident reports.
- Respond promptly and effectively to safety concerns, incidents, or emergencies.
- Collaborate with site management to implement, monitor, and improve safety protocols.
- Support incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Act as a visible safety presence on site, engaging with crews and reinforcing safe behavior.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the projects safety culture.
