Crane Service Technician

Location: GTA

Salary: $45- $62

Schedule: 40 hours/week | Full-Time | Day Shift with On-Call Availability

Employment Type: Permanent

Position Overview

As a Crane Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining overhead lifting equipment. You'll ensure that all work is performed to the highest safety and technical standards while delivering exceptional customer support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preventive inspections of overhead cranes at client sites
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain crane and hoisting equipment
  • Modify equipment based on client needs and technical requirements
  • Install and commission new lifting equipment
  • Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot on-site issues
  • Prepare detailed service reports in accordance with company and industry standards
  • Coordinate with internal teams for parts and documentation
  • Provide client training on proper equipment use where applicable
  • Promote Fives' services and solutions during client interactions
  • Support health and safety initiatives by identifying and reporting hazards
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements and best practices

Qualifications

  • Diploma, certificate, or attestation in maintenance, electrical, or lifting equipment fields (required)
  • 3–5 years of relevant industry experience
  • 309A or 442A electrical licence (asset)
  • Knowledge of mechanics, electricity, and electronics
  • Experience with cranes or lifting equipment (asset)
  • Welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics knowledge (asset)
  • Valid driver's licence (required)
  • Basic computer skills
