About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our quality organization and ensure the highest standards of compliance, precision, and customer satisfaction within our aerospace CNC machine shop. This role provides strategic direction and leadership to manufacturing, engineering, and related functions to ensure all products meet or exceed customer, industry, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Manager will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) to maintain compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other applicable standards.

Location: Orillia, Ontario

This is an Onsite position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure compliance with ISO9001/AS9100, NADCAP, FAA, EASA, and specific customer requirements.
  • Manage all quality inspection, quality engineering, and compliance activities to support company goals and objectives.
  • Lead internal audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure sustained QMS effectiveness.
  • Oversee calibration, supplier quality, and material review board (MRB) processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in manufacturing and engineering to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.
  • Support Lean, Kaizen, 6S, and other improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and promote operational excellence.
  • Develop and mentor the quality team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality or General Manager.
  • Manage and oversee all Metrology processes, ensuring accurate measurement systems and capability.
  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen long-term customer relationships, serving as a key quality interface for customer communication.
  • Manage non-conformance processes including reviewing deviations, performing root cause analysis, developing corrective actions, and managing customer documentation submissions.
  • Accurately read and interpret blueprints, technical sketches, drawings, configuration data, and customer documents to ensure product and process compliance.
  • Represent the organization during customer and third-party audits, ensuring confidence in the company's quality systems.
  • Apply strong analytical thinking to develop effective solutions with exceptional attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality System development, implementation, and management.
  • Strong understanding of calibration systems, supplier quality control, and MRB processes.
  • Proven leadership ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams to achieve performance goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems (Syteline experience preferred).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 6S, and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Prior experience in aerospace and/or automotive quality certification processes.
  • Background in NADCAP or similar regulated manufacturing environments.
  • High sense of urgency and ability to meet schedule requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Results-driven, persistent, and motivated.
  • Strong data, systems, and process orientation.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit and use hands for typing or handling items.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision and color recognition.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in an office and shop floor environment within an aerospace CNC manufacturing facility.
  • The role requires frequent interaction with production, engineering, and inspection areas.
  • Regular exposure to cleaning solutions such as acetone and alcohol.
  • Occasional visits to supplier facilities or customer sites may be required
  • Standard office environment for documentation, planning, and reporting activities
  • Collaborative environment requiring interaction with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality
