Senior Construction Project Manager – Residential Home Building
We're hiring an experienced Construction Project Manager to take a senior leadership role within our residential home building operations. This position is for someone with 10+ years of proven experience delivering full-cycle residential construction projects and ready to step into a large, active subdivision site with an established team already in motion.
Role Overview
You'll oversee day-to-day construction across multiple low-rise homes, manage junior project managers, coordinate sub-trades, and ensure schedules, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met. The ideal candidate can integrate quickly with the current team and operate at a high level from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of residential construction from excavation to occupancy.
Lead, guide, and mentor junior project managers, site supervisors, and admin staff.
Coordinate and oversee all sub-trades, contractors, and suppliers.
Maintain and execute detailed schedules for multiple homes under construction.
Review drawings, solve site issues, and liaise with consultants, inspectors, and municipal representatives.
Track progress, manage budgets, and report on project milestones.
Oversee quality control, Tarion compliance, PDI processes, and warranty/deficiency management.
Handle change orders, site instructions, and construction documentation.
Work closely with office admin on invoicing, procurement, and record-keeping.
Maintain consistent communication with trades and internal stakeholders to keep the project moving efficiently.
Qualifications
10+ years of residential home-building project management experience.
Proven capability managing multiple builds simultaneously in a subdivision environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience managing junior PMs and site teams.
Deep knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and troubleshooting.
Proficient with Excel and construction scheduling software (Buildertrend, MS Project, or similar).
Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, and documentation systems.
Familiarity with Tarion, PDIs, warranty processes, and builder obligations.
Valid driver's licence and ability to be on site daily.
Assets
Experience with high-volume, repetitive model home construction.
Ability to build and maintain a strong, reliable trade base.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
