Description:


Northern Lights College is seeking a temporary, full-time instructor to facilitate and deliver the Youth Explore Trades Sampler Program on the Chetwynd campus. This program introduces students to a variety of trades and provides them with the opportunity to explore different disciplines. It is designed to help students gain a clearer understanding of the standards, materials, instructional methods, and academic performance expectations associated with apprenticeship training.

Contract:

  • February 2 – 6, 2025 Course Prep
  • February 9 – March 13, 2026 Instruction (excluding February 16)
  • March 16 – 20, 2026 Course Prep
  • March 23 – 27, 2026 Spring Break (unpaid)
  • March 30 – May 14, 2026 Instruction (excluding April 3 & 6)
  • May 15, 19 – 21, 2026 Course Prep

Qualifications:


Required:

  • Minimum of five years of experience working in one or more of the following trades: Carpentry, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical or Welding.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, and Outlook).

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:

  • Red Seal Certification, or equivalent, in Carpentry, Automotive Mechanics, Plumbing, Electrical, or Welding.

*Preference will be given to candidates holding Red Seal Certification.

  • Adult teaching experience, including the supervision or instruction of apprentices.
  • Completion of, or enrolment in, the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PIDP) or an equivalent teaching credential.
