Were looking for a social-first video editor who truly lives in the world of TikTok, Gen Z culture, global creators, and modern internet aesthetics. Someone who understands what makes an edit feel Instagram-2023 versus TikTok-2025and knows how to create the latter.
You should have strong taste, a clear point of view, and an eye for whats culturally relevant right now. If you understand, like and follow content creators like Steven Bartlett, Alex Hormozi, MrBeast, Jay Shetty, eugbrandstrat, madison.utendahl, Codie Sanchez, Scott Galloway and Sophia Amoruso and are up to date with content and brands shaping todays online landscape and vibe live Dua Lipa, Rosalía,Charli XCX youre in the right place.
Were looking for someone who is curious, plugged into global references, creatively confident, and able to bring artistic energy to project. You must be able to pitch and execute ideas that match each clients tone and goals while staying aligned with whats trending across platforms. We're looking for someone who thinks beyond the edit - someone who brings fresh ideas, adapts quickly, and understands what makes content perform.
Key Responsibilities
Short-Form Video Editing
- Edit high-impact videos for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
- Work with raw footage, podcasts, screenshots and b-roll, adapting them to platform trends.
- Repurpose long-form content (podcasts, interviews, events) into native short-form clips.
- Build edits that feel fast, modern, dynamic, and emotionally engaging.
- Add music, captions, animations, and effects aligned with trends and brand guidelines.
- Format all videos for vertical (9:16) mobile-first viewing.
- Create highly visual, scroll-stopping edits.
Trend-Driven Content Ideation & Repurposing
- Understand why something is trending, not just replicate it.
- Stay up to date with trends, memes, editing styles, and TikTok-native templates.
- Propose new ideas, remix formats, hooks, and creative concepts.
- Transform long-form content into fresh bite-sized stories.
- Source audio, overlays, and creative elements that elevate clips.
- Collaborate with the producer, designers, and social creators to turn ideas into high-performing content.
Creative Judgment & Brand Alignment
- Understand and interpret the tone, voice, and positioning of each client.
- Edit in a way that enhances speaker delivery, emotional beats, and narrative arcs.
- Identify standout moments and recommend the best application (Reel, Meme, Remix, etc.).
- Ensure edits remain on-brand and in sync with creative direction.
Workflow & Delivery
- Deliver final video files via Frame.io and maintain tasks in ClickUp.
- Ensure all exports are named and formatted correctly.
- Implement feedback quickly and clearly.
- Collaborate with other editors and creative team members to meet weekly delivery goals.
Founder Mode & AI-Immersed Editing
- Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows, speed up editing, and enhance creative output (e.g., auto-captioning, trend analysis, cut detection).
- Act with ownership and initiative, propose edits, pitch ideas, and make strategic decisions without waiting for direction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with producers, designers, and strategists to align on creative goals and improve content performance.
- Contribute trend insights, editing innovations, and platform learnings to the broader creative team.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Weekly delivery of 10-12 high-quality video clips.
- Proactive contribution of content ideas based on current trends.
- Timely turnaround of edits and feedback.
- Content that maintain brand voice and perform well in platform metrics (engagement, shares, retention).
What You Bring
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years editing short-form video (TikTok/Reels/Shorts).
- Deep fluency in TikTok culture, trends, and platform language.
- Strong creative taste and storytelling instincts.
- Ability to defend creative choices and articulate reasoning.
- Boldness to experiment, innovate, and break formats.
- Strong understanding of hooks, pacing, subtitles, transitions, and retention tools.
- Comfortable taking direct feedback and iterating quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple edits and deadlines independently.
- Strong communication skills in English.

- Editors stuck in past Instagram aesthetics.
- People who don't follow global creators.
- Anyone unfamiliar with core cultural references (Steven Bartlett, Alex Hormozi, eugbrandstrat, Codie Sanchez, Scott Galloway, Sophia Amoruso, Dua Lipa, Rosalía,Charli XCX).
- Anyone lacking taste, curiosity, or cultural literacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience editing for digital creators, thought leaders, or social media brands.
- Background working with podcasts and transforming long-form content into short clips.
- Knowledge of meme culture and remix trends.
- Spanish fluency is a plus.
