Assistant Controller – Remote (Canada) We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller based in Canada to support a growing portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple entities with accuracy and efficiency. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate all financial activities across multiple clients Manage accounting personnel and review daily/weekly/monthly deliverables Implement controls, budgets, and process improvements Standardize and maintain accounting systems, workflows, and documentation Conduct internal audits and provide clear financial insights Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors Review and approve AP, AR, payroll, and month-end close items Provide Loom walkthrough videos to explain workflows and decisions when needed Required Qualifications Previous experience in accounting management or Assistant Controller roles Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes Hands-on expertise with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Ramp Proven ability to handle multiple client books simultaneously Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills Highly detail-oriented with strong time-management discipline Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality work consistently Work Requirements Must be located in Canada and eligible to work remotely Must have a reliable personal laptop or computer Must have a stable internet connection capable of video meetings Must be comfortable using time-tracking software (e.g., Hubstaff, Time Doctor, etc.) Must be able to work in a secure, private workspace Application Requirement Please submit a Loom video (under 5 minutes) introducing yourself and explaining why you are a strong fit for this Assistant Controller role, with emphasis on your experience in QBO, Bill.com, Ramp, and multi-client accounting environments.
