Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, organized, and professional Medical Office Secretary to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as an integral part of the office, supporting both administrative operations and patient care. Prior experience in a gastroenterology ( preferred)or medical office setting — we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a caring attitude toward patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients in person and over the phone in a friendly and professional manner
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments and procedures
  • Manage correspondence, phone calls, faxes, and emails efficiently
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Verify insurance information and assist with authorizations or referrals as needed
  • Handle billing inquiries, copay collections, and office payments
  • Support the physician and clinical team with daily administrative needs
  • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and practice policies
  • Help maintain an organized, clean, and welcoming front office environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred (gastroenterology experience a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
