We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountantto lead financial operations at Black Rock Oceanfront Resort, a stratified property on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. This senior role is central to ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and strategic use of our financial information to support operational decision-making and the long-term success of the resort.

Our resort offers guests a luxury West Coast experience through our oceanfront accommodations, spa, and restaurants, Big Beach Lounge and Currents. We reside within the Yuulu?il?ath - Ucluelet First Nation traditional territory, of whose ancestral lands we work and play.
The Role
As the resorts Accountant, you will oversee financial management across all departments, ensuring compliance, transparency, and strategic alignment with company goals. Youll manage the accounting team, coordinate the annual audit, and provide the financial insight needed to drive operational efficiency and profitability. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working collaboratively with operational leaders in a dynamic hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations and oversee the accounting team
- Manage the annual auditand ensure all financial reporting meets required standards
- Prepare annual budgets, create financial forecasts, and monitor performance against targets
- Support department managers with the financial insights and tools they need to make informed decisions
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, receivables, and payables
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal controls, systems, and processes
- Collaborate with leadership to support the resorts financial goals and profitability
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation(or equivalent professional certification)
- Hospitality or property management accounting experience preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a senior accounting or finance role
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate financial information for non-financial stakeholders
- Proficiency with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
