Our client is a well-established specialized electronics manufacturer with a strong presence in the industrial sector is seeking a Plant Manager to oversea their Mississauga facility. The Plant Manager will lead production operations, champion continuous improvement, and drive efficiency across the facility. The ideal candidate knows how to create and maintain a collaborative culture and motivated team environment.
The Role:
Provide hands-on leadership for all day-to-day plant operations including production, maintenance, and manufacturing engineering.
Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacturing practices that meet production goals and quality standards.
Manage and mentor departmental supervisors and production teams to foster engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing initiatives, process optimization, and waste reduction programs.
Develop and manage plant budgets, production forecasts, and capital investment plans aligned with business objectives.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality teams to align priorities, optimize resource allocation, and maintain on-time delivery.
Oversee inventory control, equipment maintenance, and preventive maintenance programs to ensure reliable operations.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to improve safety, quality, and productivity metrics.
Lead safety initiatives and uphold compliance with corporate, environmental, and health & safety regulations.
Support product quality objectives by partnering with Quality Assurance to address non-conformances and customer feedback.
The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive plant or production management experience within a manufacturing environment.
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
Proven leadership background with success in motivating and developing multidisciplinary teams.
Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and best practices for regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Proficiency with ERP and Microsoft Office systems; experience with Microsoft Navision considered an asset.
