Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, compassionate care to patients in both the Emergency and High Acuity Units. Working under the direction of the Unit Manager, the RN plays a critical role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to meet the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of patients in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in emergency and high acuity settings.
  • Perform rapid assessments and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to Interior Health's standards, policies, and ethical guidelines.
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Previous ER or acute care experience preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications are assets.

Speciality Training: ACLS, BLS, Telemetry, Critical Care Certificate, Cath Lab experience (Scrub, Circulate). Orientation: 5 days. Shifts: Days 0700-1700, 0800-1800, 0930-1930, occasional on-call 1700-0700
