Our client—one of the largest processors of traditional South Asian dairy products in North America—is seeking a Food Processing Technician – Dairy Production to join their world-class production team.
This organization operates modern, fully automated, CFIA/FDA/EU-approved facilities with SQF Level 3 certification, and is known for its innovation, quality, and large-scale production capabilities.
Position Overview
The Food Processing Technician – Dairy Production plays a critical role in the company's dairy manufacturing operations. This role involves operating, monitoring, and adjusting dairy processing equipment with a strong focus on instrumentation, automation, and HMI systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically inclined, and committed to maintaining the highest food quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor processing equipment using HMI systems and automated controls.
- Perform operational adjustments and troubleshoot equipment and instrumentation issues.
- Calibrate and verify instrumentation including sensors, valves, and temperature/flow devices.
- Monitor process parameters and product quality; perform real-time adjustments to maintain standards.
- Ensure safety systems, interlocks, and automated protections are functioning correctly.
- Maintain accurate documentation including production logs and troubleshooting records.
- Follow GMP, food safety, and OSHA requirements while ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Requirements
- Proficient with HMI systems and automated control interfaces.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation, sensors, and process automation.
- Technical diploma in industrial automation, food processing, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in fast-paced hot/cold environments.
- HTST license (or willingness to obtain one).
