Location: North Bay, Ontario
Organization: Community Counselling Centre of Nipissing
Employment Type: Temporary Full-Time 3 Month Contract - Possibility of extension as per the length of leave.
Salary: As per Collective Agreement

About the Role

Lead the Partner Assault Response (PAR) program, a court-mandated intervention designed to address intimate partner violence. This role fosters accountability, respectful relationships, and community safety by guiding individuals through behavioral change, emotional regulation, and non-abusive conflict resolution. Services are delivered using anti-oppressive, culturally safe, trauma-informed, and inclusive practices.

  • Apply adult learning principles and feminist theory to facilitate engaging group sessions.
  • Create dynamic, respectful, and accountable group processes that support client growth.
  • Prepare reports for referral sources and maintain documentation in alignment with professional standards.

This position combines primary group facilitation with program coordination, ensuring compliance with provincial standards while promoting accountability, respectful relationships, and safer communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate program operations: scheduling, referrals, reporting.
  • Facilitate 12-week group sessions using trauma-informed, anti-oppressive practices.
  • Collaborate with the ReKnew PAR Co-Facilitator and Program Manager to ensure best practices are upheld.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare reports for courts and probation.
  • Provide safety planning and updates to partners.
  • Collaborate with justice system partners and community agencies.
  • Evening sessions required.

Qualifications

  • Degree/diploma in social work, criminology, psychology, or related field.
  • 23 years experience with IPV (Intimate Partner Violence), trauma, and/or group facilitation.
  • Knowledge of Ontarios Domestic Violence Court process.
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; French proficiency is an asset.

Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Class G Drivers License and reliable vehicle.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
  • Availability for evening sessions.
