Position: Infant and Toddler Early Childhood Educator

Reports to: Leq: mel Childcare Centre Manager

Position type: Full Time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday (Maternity leave)

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be working with in our infant and toddler program, following Leq:mel childcare Policies and Procedures, Leq:mel childcare Staff Policies and Procedures, Fraser Health Authority Licensing Regulations, Community Care Assisted Living Act and ECE Code of Ethics. The Infant and Toddler Early Childhood Educator will provide a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop with indigenous culture and traditional teachings as well as encouraging the childs growth in their spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, and social development.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Educator Infant and Toddler licence to practice
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Culture
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable sector

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing in our infant and toddler, as well as supervising the health, safety and well being of all the children.
  • Following the Fraser Health Authority Licensing Regulations, Community Care and Assisted Living Act, ECE code of ethics, and Leq: mel Childcare Centre Policies and Procedures.
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and cultural components that encourages and promotes the growth and development of children in their spiritual, physical, emotional, mental, and social development.
  • Effective communication skills with parents and coworkers.
  • Effective written communication skills and maintain record keeping of required program operational forms.
  • Maintain and continue professional development for recertification and educational growth.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
