Our Firm has an immediate opening for a full-time Staff Accountant (Supervisor), Tax. This position can be based out of any of our three great office locations. Reporting to Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners, you will be responsible for: * Preparing instruction letters and election forms for the execution of corporate reorganizations, estate & post-mortem tax planning, business succession planning, and the purchase & sale of a business * Participating in tax planning engagements and the preparation of technical tax memos * Reviewing tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, and the related foreign reporting requirements * Conducting tax research and interpreting tax legislation and proposed legislative changes * Providing technical expertise as an internal resource to staff who need tax support on their client files or on specific questions from their clients * Preparing client correspondence, including reports & analysis, discussion of technical issues and recommendations, and attending client meetings where appropriate * Delegating tasks where appropriate and managing their completion within firm quality and client delivery standards * Corresponding with Canada Revenue Agency and provincial ministries on client-related issues * Acting as a coach to develop and mentor junior staff * Additional responsibilities as required to support Firm objectives The successful candidate will have: * 3-5 years of work experience with Canadian Income Taxation * 1-2 years post-designation experience in a public accounting Firm * Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation * Willingness to enroll, or enrolled, in the CICA In-Depth Tax Course, or completion of the MTax program * Working knowledge of Canadian income taxation concepts and experience in tax research If you are a confident, dedicated, and hard-working professional who is motivated to achieve high standards of quality service and value to clients, we would we love to hear from you!
