Role Overview
The Field Operations Coordinator is the right hand to Durwests General Superintendent, providing strategic coordination, operational clarity, and proactive follow-through across all field activites. This role strengthens and amplifies the General Superintendents leadership execution, keeping him ahead of the curve, and ensuring field operations run smoother and faster across all projects.
This is a foundational new role at Durwest and is ideal for someone energized by building structure, elevating execution, and shaping systems that will scale with the company.
What You'll Be Doing
This role is designed to increase the General Superintendents capacity by bringing clarity, structure, and proactive follow-through to key operational systems across all projects.
QA/QC Support
- Assist in the development and implementation of company-wide QA/QC standards.
- Conduct spot checks and audits across projects to ensure adherence to Durwests quality expectations.
- Track deficiencies and corrective actions with Site Superintendents.
- Support close-out documentation including commissioning, inspections, and test records.
Tools & Equipment Management
- Support the coordinate the allocation, delivery, and tracking of company-owned tools across projects.
- Assist in the maintenance schedules, calibration, and rental utilization.
- Monitor tool rental profitability and report results to the General Superintendent and Accounting.
Manpower & Resourcing Coordination
- Support the General Superintendent in planning field manpower requirements across all projects.
- Assist with mobilization, demobilization, and resource tracking at the corporate level.
- Work with Site Superintendents to align manpower and equipment needs with project schedules.
- Maintain regular communication with Corporate Services regarding workforce fluctuations, ensuring timely onboarding and offboarding, and proactive coordination of resource adjustments such as leaves, project slowdowns or ramp-ups, and other HR-related changes.
Sustainability & Compliance
- Track LEED and sustainability documentation for multiple projects.
- Support environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting requirements.
- Partner with H&S to ensure consistency of SiteDocs, tailgates, and compliance reporting.
- Support safety initiatives, monitor analytics, and ensure follow-up on action items
Communication & Administration
- Prepare field operations reports for the General Superintendent and leadership team.
- Maintain shared tools, templates, and best practices for field operations.
- Act as a liaison between Field Operations, Project Management, and Corporate Services.
- Assist with company-wide initiatives related to field operations improvement.
- Manage and prioritize the General Superintendents communication flow, ensuring timely follow-up and auditing that documentation and records are filed accurately and fully completed.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 3+ years in construction operations (e.g., Project Coordinator, Safety Officer, Foreman, Asst. Superintendent, ideally supporting field operations)
- Experience coordinating across multiple projects or field teams, including tracking actions, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring nothing is missed
- Known for being highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through and accuracy in documentation and system compliance.
Operational Competencies
- Deep understanding of construction sequencing and field realities (able to anticipate needs before they surface)
- Highly proactive (thrives in ambiguity and doesnt wait to be told)
- Skilled at process-building, action tracking, and ensuring follow-through across multiple stakeholders
- Brings strong organizational habits, able to juggle competing priorities and maintain composure and precision under pressure.

Technical / Tools
- Comfortable with construction tech platforms (Procore, BIM, Bluebeam, Box, scheduling tools, etc.)
- Strong computer and digital organization skills (ensures data accuracy, version control, and compliance with company systems)
- Bonus: experience with manpower scheduling, Lean / CI certification, QA/QC frameworks
