Job Details:
Shift Schedule:14 days on / 7 days off (Note: Schedule subject to change to meet project timeline)
Duration of Position: Beginning October 13 - Term of project (Approximately 2 months)
Hours Per Day:12
Accommodations:Camp accommodation provided.
Project Scope: Renovation of camp dorm rooms
Please note: Employees are responsible for their own travel to the job site, and travel time is unpaid.
Trade / Scope Specific project responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
Surface Preparation & Painting
- Prepare surfaces (e.g., walls, ceilings, steel, wood, piping) by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, or priming as required.
- Mix, match, and apply paints, primers, sealants, stains, coatings, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
- Apply protective coatings in compliance with manufacturer specifications and project standards.
- Inspect surfaces and finishes for quality and durability, ensuring corrections are made as needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Alberta OHS Code Part 18 (Personal Protective Equipment) and Part 5 (Chemical Hazards, Substances & Biological Agents) requirements.
- Safely handle, store, and dispose of paints, solvents, and chemicals in compliance with WHMIS 2015.
- Use appropriate respiratory protection and participate in mask fit testing when required.
- Participate in hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and site safety meetings.
- Follow fall protection procedures when working at heights and confined space procedures when applicable.
- Follow company environmental policies and procedures related to waste management, emissions, and resource conservation.
Tools & Equipment
- Safely operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including sprayers, sanders, ladders, scaffolds, and lifts.
- Ensure tools and equipment are inspected regularly and deficiencies reported immediately.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work as part of the renovation crew to ensure tasks are coordinated and completed on schedule.
- Communicate with the Site Supervisor to clarify instructions, report progress, and raise concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, minimizing disruption to other trades.
General Certifications Required:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Electrician Journeyman Certificate
General Safety Certifications Required:
- H2S Alive
- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS
- Fall Protection
- Elevated Work Platform (EWP)
