We have an immediate opening for an Aluminum Extrusion Press Operator at our Brampton Plant.
Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles. Can Art has grown from a single press operation in 1988 to the multi plant, multi press operation that we are today.

What You'll do
  • Set up machinery and ensure all required materials are readily available
  • Run the press in sequence of the job orders
  • Set the press to the correct temperature and run speed per the work instructions to optimize for good quality product
  • Monitor all operations on the line to ensure that parts are produced to customer specification
  • Monitor the production equipment and report any machine issue to the supervisor and maintenance team in a timely manner
  • Meet daily targets for schedule adherence, activation, etc.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
  • Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
  • Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
Required Skills
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Must be able to use a measuring tape to read and take measurements
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent organizational and motivational skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in extrusion or similar manufacturing environment is an asset
Working Conditions
  • Plant Environment
  • Twelve hour rotating continental shift
  • Exposure to loud noise and heat
  • May be required to lift up to 50lbs
  • Overtime as needed
