About the Role
You'll partner closely with leaders across multiple disciplines to build and support high-performing teams that drive innovation and excellence. This role combines hands-on talent acquisition with onboarding, and training - making it a great fit for someone who wants to shape the entire employee journey.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for technical and professional roles across the organization.
  • Leverage tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, applicant tracking tools, job boards, and professional networks to identify and engage top talent.
  • Collaborate and coach leaders on decisions relating to the recruitment strategy and the overall candidate/employee experience
  • Plan and participate in career fairs, campus/association recruitment, and co-op/internship programs to build early talent pipelines.
  • Track and analyze recruitment and retention KPIs (e.g., time-to-fill, turnover, candidate experience) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead and continuously improve the onboarding experience, ensuring new employees are set up for success from day one.
  • Support employee training programs and collaborate with leaders to identify ongoing development opportunities.
  • Contribute to talent review and workforce planning processes to align people strategies with business goals.
  • Act as an ambassador for the organization internally and in the marketplace by raising the SBM brand awareness at educational institutions and within the industry.
  • Promote SBM's culture and Core Values to prospective candidates.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of recruitment experience, ideally within a fast-paced or technical environment.
  • Strong sourcing skills and experience with LinkedIn Recruiter and applicant tracking tools.
  • Proven ability to manage talent acquisition of multiple roles and priorities with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
  • Experience supporting onboarding, training, or talent development initiatives is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated experience as a strategic thinker with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Familiarity with engineering or professional services sectors considered an advantage.
  • Knowledge of relevant Canadian employment legislation and regulations (i.e. Employment Standards, Labour Relations, Human Rights, OHSA, etc.)
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • CHRP designation (or in progress) preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation to travel to offsite recruiting events and between the Kitchener and London offices
