Galaxy Vets - Regional Manager

Location: New Brunswick, Canada
*This is a hybrid position working remotely as well as additional travel between hospital locations as needed

Job Summary:

The Regional Manager will oversee the efficient operation of multiple veterinary clinics within their designated region. This role requires a proactive leader who can promote a team-first culture, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, manage financial aspects, and maintain the highest level of client and patient care. Key Responsibilities

Human Resources:

  • Treat each team member, patient, and customer with the highest level of compassion & care.
  • Serve as a leader that promotes team first and transparent practices that allow candor and feedback.
  • Support and mentor clinic staff to maintain a healthy and motivated hospital culture.
  • Perform workforce bench planning, collaborate with recruitment, onboarding and trainers to conduct interviews, hire, onboarding, facilitate the implementation of training and skill development programs, and facilitate the scheduling of valued new teammates.
  • Ensures that regular individual team performance reviews are scheduled and performed. Provides timely feedback (positive and constructive) to ensure that clinical and professional performance aligns with their position descriptions, the needs of the hospital, and Galaxy's core values. Creates opportunities and facilitates idea implementation and career progression.
  • Complete all required paperwork for new employees. Maintain and update confidential employee and benefit files.
  • Assure compliance with OSHA reporting logs and Workers Compensation programs.
  • Distribute all necessary communication materials with staff, including policy changes, relevant information discussed at meetings, and client feedback.
  • Participate in and promote the Companys culture, including utilization of the Traction methodology and the Great Game of Business.
  • Participate in the manager on-call weekend rotation

Director Role Oversight

  • With a bottom up culture, we empower our support staff to hold various director roles. As Regional Manager, it is your responsibility to ensure each director role has the resources needed to perform their duties
  • This would be overseeing inventory management, cash handling/reconciliation, facilities management, marketing outreach, and the client experience overall
  • Connecting directors as needed to the SME within the organization

General Hospital Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and people management, including scheduling, appointment management,
  • Attend L10 meetings and lead your regions weekly meetings, cascading information as necessary.
  • Mentor and maintain a healthy hospital culture motivated to excel.
  • Support the needs of the team, the client's experience, and the organization's goals.
  • Understand and address client or team concerns as they arise.
  • Manage the hospital practice management system.
  • Complete additional hospital projects as assigned.

Business and Financial

  • Ensures that team members understand the Galaxy business systems and Galaxy vision, values, and key objectives and that of the hospital.
  • Prioritize projects and complete them in the order of greatest importance, impact, and alignment with Galaxy targets and goals, via the Galaxy way project management model.
  • Creates opportunities and facilitates idea implementation and career progression.
  • Review and guide the financial and strategic business development to improve hospital performance and profitability.
  • Participate in the yearly budgeting process, monthly P&L reviews, and discuss weekly financial reports. Proactively monitor the financial progress of the hospital, analyze results, and adjust, if necessary, to ensure all budget goals are achieved.
  • Provide and communicate the relevant business information and data that will help the leadership team, the departments, and the wider team understand the status and performance of the business.
  • Submit capital expense requests per guidelines.

  • A veterinary professional at heart, with hands-on experience as an RVT, Veterinary Assistant or Practice Manager with a deep understanding of the flow of a busy hospital.
  • A natural leader and mentor who inspires others, promotes collaboration, and believes in empowering teams through decentralized decision-making.
  • Experienced in multi-site or clinic management, with a passion for building strong, connected teams and developing future leaders.
  • Brings a balance of operational insight and financial awareness, with the ability to turn goals into actionable results that support both people and performance.
  • Skilled communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, community-driven environment, and knows how to keep teams aligned, informed, and motivated.
