Summary:
Reporting to the Clinic Supervisor, the Health Service Receptionist acts as the primary contact between Guelph Community Health Centre Clients and Health Care Practitioners. They are responsible for the effective and efficent booking and check in of clients and communicating with providers. They are responsible for helping to create an environment that is courteous, professional, and sensitive to the diverse needs of our clients.
PRINCIPAL JOB DUTIES
- Schedule client appointments, including arranging interpretation services as required
- Receiving and greeting visitors and clients, responding to their needs and supporting them accordingly
- answer incoming calls, direct clients and process messages
- Make outgoing calls to clients for follow up and reminders
- Contact specialists where required
- maintain electronic medical records, scanning documents, documenting appointments and required information
- Manage clinic inbox
- Provide clerical services
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with policies and processes
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Gr 12 diploma, college diploma or certificate in office, medical, or business administration preferred
- High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- At least 1 year experience working with customers and handling a fast-paced office environment, preferably in a health care setting
- Experience with Electronic Health Records is an asset
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Effective time management, decision making and organizational skills
- High level of confidentiality
- Flexible towards change
