Overview and Purpose of the Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance (with a dotted line to Quality and IT departments), this role is responsible for analyzing and managing clinical and administrative data to support quality improvement, program evaluation, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. The incumbent will help develop and implement a data analytics strategy, track key performance indicators, and generate actionable insights to drive improvement across the organization. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the optimization of the new Meditech MaaS EMR system.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Decision Support & Data Analytics

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze datasets identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in patient care and outcomes
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards for clinical leaders, administrative teams, and external stakeholders (e.g., Ontario Health)
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Utilize software tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, BI tools, EMR systems, Business & Clinical Analytics) to support data analysis and visualization

Compliance & Quality Improvement

  • Assist in preparation for accreditation, Ministry of Health audits, and other regulatory reviews
  • Provide data support for clinical quality initiatives, incident reviews, risk management, and research
  • Support implementation and monitoring of evidence-based practices and performance benchmarks
  • Stay up to date on the latest developments in data analysis and reporting tools
  • Contribute to research efforts aimed at improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes

Collaboration & Training

  • Work closely with clinical teams, IT, and administrative departments to ensure smooth data flow and integration
  • Provide training and support to staff on documentation practices, data interpretation

Other

  • Assist with the implementation and optimization of information systems, including EHRs and other healthcare IT solutions

  • Support and train team members in data and system use as required

  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all mandatory training requirements and work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, company Policies and Procedures, as well as established industry guidelines

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in data analysis or decision support within a healthcare setting

  • Strong knowledge and experience with healthcare data systems (e.g., Meditech EMR, Ministry of Finance demographic datasets) considered a significant asset

  • Familiarity with surgical, ambulatory care, and diagnostic imaging workflows and data standards is an asset

  • Proficiency with data analytics tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SQL

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences, including senior leadership and external stakeholders

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Proven ability to work independently on moderately complex projects with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and ensure compliance with data security and confidentiality policies

  • Computer proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Meditech is an asset

  • Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check/vulnerable sector check

  • Provide proof of Immunization and TB records
