Catholic Family Services of Peel-Dufferin (CFSP) is a dynamic, growing family service agencyserving all areas of Peel and Dufferin. CFSPD is committed to providing a positive workenvironment for its employees and excellent services to its clients.

The Partner Assault Response (PAR) program is a Domestic Violence Court initiative. Referrals tothe program are received through the criminal court system, and Probation and Parole. The PARprogram delivers a specialized community-based group education/counselling to clients who havebeen mandated by the court to attend the program in response to a criminal charge involvingdomestic violence. The program is funded by the Ministry of the Attorney Generals Ontario VictimServices.

Position Summary

CFSPD is currently seeking a Group Facilitator who is experienced in facilitating group programs inthe community and in working with diverse populations through an intersectional, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens. A successful candidate has a solid understanding of domesticviolence, and its impacts on the victim, the perpetrator, and family as well as other factors and/orissues that create additional barriers to healthy relationships. The incumbent should also haveknowledge of the principles and practices of counseling, social work, and group facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group programs and ensure program curriculum objectives are adhered to.
• Manage group dynamics and provide crisis intervention with individual clients if necessary.
• Provide supportive, remote and/or in-person crisis intervention for clients enrolled in theprogram.
• Refer clients to appropriate agency programs, other professionals, agencies, services, orcommunity resources as needed.
• Prepare, compile, submit, and maintain accurate records, files, statistics, and additionalrelevant information in accordance with agency policies, and funding requirements.
• Keep complete and accurate records, complete client session notes and group attendancerecords, update database, and share information with the administration team in a timelymanner.
• Comply with agency policy and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Community College Diploma or related human servicefield and two (2) years of relevant work experience (group facilitation, counselling,providing psycho-education) preferred.
• Registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Registered Social Workersand Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, orother regulated professional body, is required.
• Fluency in Punjabi required
• Experience working with offenders and mandated clients.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of counseling, social work, and group facilitation.
• Knowledge regarding, but not limited to: partner abuse, child abuse, and the dynamics ofviolence and abuse and understanding of impacts of trauma and crisis/risk assessment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with diverse populations through anintersectional, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive lens.
• Ability to work with individuals who experience mental health, homelessness and substanceuse/abuse challenges through a harm reduction, trauma-informed lens.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilizing crisis intervention and de-escalationtechniques; Crisis Prevention/intervention training is an asset.
• Computer and virtual service delivery literacy and database management skills areessential.
• Independent and self-directed with the capability to operate with minimal directsupervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills, leadership capacity and an ability to build relationships within adiverse community
• Exceptional organizational skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage multiplepriorities.
• A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening check
