Job Title: Test Engineer

Job Description

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and executing design verification programs that support the design and sustainment of aerospace products. Your expertise will be crucial in creating and refining test strategies, jigs and fixtures, as well as testing processes, all aimed at enhancing design verification efforts and ensuring product functionality, compliance, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Execute design verification test programs, assess system compliance to product specifications, and document findings.
• Evaluate product failures through design of experiments, data analysis, or structured tear-down processes to determine root-cause.
• Work closely with external test partners to coordinate the execution of compliance and certification test activities and obtain reports/certifications.
• Participate in new product introductions, contributing to design for test, and manufacturing and testing prototype designs throughout the project.
• Develop new tools and processes to verify, validate, troubleshoot, and manufacture products.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineering and technical staff as required.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years experience performing environmental testing (thermal, humidity, vibration, shock, salt/corrosion, EMI/EMC, etc.).
• Experience with documentation development: test plan and procedures, reports, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Skilled and experienced in mechanical, electronic, and/or software test technology, methods, and processes.
• Experienced in the design of experiments or the development of product verification test programs.
• Experience in electronic test automation system design, and/or test implementation within an automated test framework.
• Versed in electro-mechanical and/or opto-mechanical components, sub-assembly, and system design or testing.
• Experienced in the application, design, or testing of sensors/transducers, measurement instrumentation, or integrated systems.
• Strong and clear communicator able to communicate high-level recommendations succinctly.
• Capable technical writer and presenter able to succinctly summarize engineering details and analyses.

Work Environment

This position requires working 5 days on-site, primarily in the R&D lab.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Gloucester, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Ottawa,ON.
