Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Social Media Specialist (community manager) to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and support business growth. This role requires a creative thinker with strong analytical skills and a passion for digital marketing.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to a team of digital content creators, and community managers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages creativity, experimentation, and professional development.
Digital Content Strategy:
- Lead the development of comprehensive digital content strategies aligned with the college's brand identity, target audiences, and marketing objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify content opportunities and develop content calendars and editorial plans for digital channels.
- Oversee the creation of diverse digital content formats, including articles, blog posts, videos, infographics, and interactive media, to engage and inform target audiences.
Social Media Management:
- Manage the college's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube, to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
- Develop and implement social media strategies to grow and nurture online communities, increase follower engagement, and drive traffic to the college's website and other digital properties.
- Monitor social media trends and best practices and implement innovative approaches to optimize social media performance and achieve campaign goals.
Content Creation and Curation:
- Oversee the creation and curation of engaging digital content that aligns with the college's brand voice, messaging, and target audience preferences.
- Coordinate with internal teams and subject matter experts to develop content that highlights the college's programs, events, achievements, and student stories.
- Ensure that all digital content adheres to brand guidelines and quality standards and optimize content for search engines and social media platforms.
Community Engagement and Customer Service:
- Monitor social media channels for mentions, comments, and messages, and engage with followers in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster positive relationships with online communities and influencers to amplify the college's message and increase brand advocacy.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback effectively, and escalate issues as needed to ensure a positive user experience.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital content and social media campaigns, including reach, engagement, conversions, and sentiment.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations to communicate campaign performance, insights, and recommendations to college leadership and stakeholders.
Experience
- Proven experience (5+ years) in social media and community marketing, preferably in the education sector or a related industry. Experience in international education marketing is a plus.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, algorithms, and best practices, with proficiency in content creation, scheduling, and community management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging and compelling content tailored to different platforms and target audiences.
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and visual communication, demonstrated through a portfolio of relevant work samples.
- Analytical mindset with experience in social media analytics and reporting, able to interpret data and insights to drive informed decision-making.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of social media advertising platforms, including Facebook Ads Manager, Instagram Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and Twitter Ads, with experience in campaign management and optimization.
- Familiarity with social media management tools and software, such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Buffer, or similar platforms.
