About the Role:
The Adult Fitness and Lifestyle (AFL) Group Fitness Instructor is responsible for the delivery of high-quality fitness classes within the YMCA. Providing a safe and engaging exercise experience through delivering classes. The Northside Community Centre YMCA is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Cycle Instructor to join our team. This position will support our team in leading Cycle classes with enthusiasm while promoting a safe space for all participants, promoting our Core Values in each of their classes.
Responsibilities:
Program & Service Delivery
- Deliver high quality and safe group fitness cycle classes, while maintaining current certifications as required.
- Consistently provide exceptional member service, building relationships with members and supporting them in achieving their fitness objectives.
Health and Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and maintenance of all Fitness Centre equipment and accessories during sessions.
- Respond to emergency situations as required.
- Inspect equipment after use; report defective items to branch management.
- Intervene and educate members regarding high risk, unsafe or dangerous exercises.
Qualifications:
- Current group fitness certification in Cycle through the YMCA, Fitness Alberta or CanFitPro.
- Specialty group fitness certification is an asset.
- Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check.
- CPR-A at minimum.
