Position Summary:

Would you like to make a measurable difference with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) and their wholly owned business entity Mississaugas of the Credit Business Corporation (MCBC) and lead a best-in-class environmental stewardship company?

MCBC Milestone Environmental Remediation LP is a Partnership with vision and is seeking an experienced General Manager to guide our next phase of growth.

Were looking for someone with 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in environmental consulting, contracting, construction, or engineering services someone who can combine deep industry knowledge with strong Indigenous cultural awareness and business acumen to deliver high-quality environmental solutions, cultivate trusted client relationships, and lead with purpose.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the General Manager role will include but are not limited to the following:

1. Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategies to expand market share in environmental contracting services, including remediation, waste management, and habitat restoration.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities with government, municipal, and private sector clients in alignment with the approved Strategy and Business Plan.
  • Pursue an existing project pipeline and identify new strategic prospects.
  • Lead proposal development, contract negotiations, and client presentations in collaboration with the operations teams.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with Partnership stakeholders (MCBC and Milestone), clients, affiliated partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes to inform business direction and decision making.

2. Operations Leadership

  • Optimize operational efficiency through collaboration with the Partnership leadership team which include MCBC and Milestone members focusing on process improvements, technology adoption, and resource management.
  • Lead quarterly Board meetings, coordinate governance requirements, provide and present management and financial reports and approval requests.
  • Schedule and facilitate biweekly meetings with Partnership operations and business development teams to review pipeline and initiatives.
  • Financial management of Partnership.
  • Maintain a pipeline schedule to support proactive business planning.
  • Attend and participate in bid and proposal review meetings.

3. Strategic Leadership

  • Partner and liaise with Partnership leadership to establish and execute an approved Strategy and Business Plan.
  • Set annual goals, budgets, and performance metrics for business development and operations to obtain sustainable revenue growth.
  • Represent the Partnership at industry conferences, networking events, and trade associations.
  • Foster a culture rooted in inclusion, innovation, sustainability, and accountability.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Graduate degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Business (asset).
  • Related work experience and demonstrated track record will be considered.

Experience Required:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in contracting, construction, environmental consulting, or engineering services.
  • Experience in Indigenous Economic Development initiatives working either with or for First Nations, clients, partners and subcontractors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Indigenous cultures and a passion for reconciliation initiatives.
  • Understanding of Indigenous partnership models, cultural protocols, and community benefit agreements.
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Navigating shifting regulatory landscapes, client demands, and environmental conditions.
  • Proven track record of business development success in a competitive market.
  • Strong operational leadership with expertise in project delivery, risk management, and financial oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tools, ERP systems and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Ontario environmental regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead multidisciplinary teams toward high performance.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based with required field visits and local/regional travel for business development. Frequent local travel within MCFN Treaty lands is required for business development and corporate events. See Schedule A for a map of MCFN Treaty Lands and Territory.

As a general contractor in Southern Ontario specializing in environmental contracting, decommissioning and site preparation, we assemble a team of qualified resources, specialized subcontractors, and suppliers to build best in class project teams.

Centered within the MCFN Treaty Lands and Territory, MCBC Milestone Environmental Remediation LP operates across the Greater Golden Horseshoe and is a model of environmental stewardship in Canadas most populous and economically significant urban area encompassing 62 municipalities.
