On behalf of our client, a leading national distributor with a state-of-the-art distribution center in Edmonton, Alberta., we're seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Manager to lead their logistics and warehouse teams, drive operational excellence, and ensure seamless movement of goods across their network.
The Role
As the Logistics Manager, you will oversee all aspects of logistics, transportation, and inventory management within their high-volume distribution center. You'll be responsible for leading a team of supervisors and associates, managing third-party logistics providers, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and service levels.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead day-to-day logistics operations including inbound/outbound shipments, inventory control, and order fulfillment
• Develop and execute logistics strategies to optimize cost, service, and productivity
• Manage and mentor a team of warehouse supervisors and logistics staff
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies
• Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics with business goals
• Monitor KPIs and generate reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement
• Oversee relationships with carriers and 3PL partners, negotiating contracts and resolving service issues
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse management (distribution center experience preferred)
• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Proficiency with WMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices in logistics
