Location:Pitt Meadows, BC - a scenic suburb of Metro Vancouver
Work Arrangement:Hybrid: 3 days/week in-office, 2 days remote,with the option to work fully in-office if preferred.

The Role

This role offers hands-on experience across all aspects of HR, office operations, and employee engagement. Reporting to the VP of People, Culture, and Compliance, the HR Coordinator Co-op will have the opportunity to develop and practice skills in every area of the employee experience function. Youll assist with day-to-day tasks including planning, implementing, and maintaining HR and office operations, while supporting initiatives that enhance employee experience, drive operational excellence, and uphold compliance standards. With a customer-focused mindset, youll help deliver seamless HR service and foster a positive, purpose-driven workplace. Key Accountabilities

Employee Experience, Relations & Engagement

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of our internal HR department, supporting seamless HR service delivery.
  • Support exceptional new hire experiences and contribute to continuous improvement of onboarding processes.
  • Help plan and execute employee engagement activities (e.g., town halls, wins of the month, lunch & learns, All-Hands, celebrations).
  • Contribute to cultural initiatives such as Great Place to Work certification, employer branding, and communications.

Recruitment & Onboarding Support

  • Post job openings across platforms (ATS, job boards, social media, university outreach).
  • Screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and manage candidate communications.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and welcome kits; assist with orientation and documentation.

Employee Records Management

  • Maintain and update employee records in BambooHR and other systems.
  • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and timely reporting of HR data.
  • Assist in preparing HR reports and documentation as needed.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits Support

  • Provide administrative support for compensation, rewards, and benefits programs.
  • Help manage SWAG and awards programs.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic goals, compliance standards, and industry benchmarks.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC).
  • Assist with safety communications, training, incident documentation, and corrective actions.

Facilities & Visitor Coordination

  • Help maintain office facilities and liaise with building management and vendors.
  • Act as the main point of contact for visitors, ensuring a welcoming experience.

Grant Applications & HR Projects

  • Assist with co-op, employment, or training grant applications.
  • Support various HR projects and initiatives under the guidance of the VP.

Core Competencies

  • Communication skills: Clear, persuasive verbal and written communication across diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Thinking: Use data to inform decisions, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and completeness in all tasks and documentation.
  • Organization & Planning: Prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Technical Support: Apply HR systems knowledge and stay current with legal and industry standards.

What were looking for/Key Competencies

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors program in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with BambooHR is a plus.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Self-starter with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Previous co-op or HR experience preferred.
  • Students who will remain actively enrolled in a recognized academic program for the full duration of the 8-month term.

Bonus Points

  • Previous experience in office administration or HR support.
  • Previous experience using HRIS (BambooHR is a plus).
  • Previous experience supporting H&S practices (JOHSC).

Able to work in-office three days per week (hybrid role)
