The Role
We are seeking a Director of Field Operations to oversee quality across all jobs and to ensure staff are engaged, supported, and retained. This is a field-focused leadership position that requires direct involvement with foremen and crews. Success in this role will be measured by two outcomes:
  • Contract Retention maintaining and improving job quality so clients renew year after year.
  • Employee Retention building a positive culture that keeps staff motivated and committed.
Landscape experience is not required. The ideal candidate will be open to hands-on learning through one month of shoulder-to-shoulder training in the field.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly meetings with foremen; coach on leadership, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure site surveys, monthly reports, and customer communications are completed on schedule.
  • Work closely with foremen to maintain standards and resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Partner with the Director of Operations on scheduling, hiring, and contract renewals while focusing primarily on field execution.
  • Enforce safety, proper tool care, and accountability on all sites.
  • Oversee resolution of first-level customer complaints with photo proof and timely follow-up.
Qualifications
  • Landscape experience not required must be willing to learn through hands-on field training.
  • Strong leadership, accountability, and people management skills.
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate, and retain staff.
  • High standards for quality, safety, and customer service.
