Job Title: Site Receiver
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, the Site Receiver is responsible for supporting warehouse operations and ensuring day-to-day activities run efficiently.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Material Handling and Inventory Management:
- Receiving, issuing, and storing material goods and other shipments.
- Organizing and tracking materials inventory held at the site warehouse.
- Executing and demonstrating a strong understanding of usage/demand levels.
Process Improvement and Collaboration:
- Identifying and presenting opportunities for process improvement in both verbal and written format.
- Working alongside project and operations managers in the purchasing and negotiation of equipment, materials, products, and services.
Procurement and Purchasing Procedures:
- Developing and implementing purchasing procedures with the procurement team.
- Purchasing duties as required to ensure timely and quality purchases of material and supplies.
Supplier Relations and Contract Management:
- Assisting in negotiation of certain contracts and maintaining good relations with suppliers.
- Using supplier pricing files and internal communication systems to ensure pricing is accurate.
Document Accuracy and Purchase Orders:
- Analyzing all documents for accuracy and completion.
- Creating and entering purchase orders into ERP, tracking and correcting OS&Ds, evaluating and correcting vendor performance.
Logistics and Delivery Management:
- Establishing logistics of delivery schedules, monitoring progress, and contacting clients and suppliers to resolve problems.
- Expediting shipments when necessary and resolving invoicing discrepancies and delivery issues.
Returns and Credit Management:
- Assisting in the return of material and following up to ensure that credit invoices are received and properly applied.
- All other reasonable duties as required.
The Ideal Candidate
Education / Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is an asset.
- Relevant certifications, such as WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), First Aid, or other health and safety certifications, are an asset.
- Current certification for operating forklifts or heavy equipment.
- A Class 3 or higher commercial driver's license is advantageous
Experience / Skills:
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a material handling, warehouse, or site receiving role, preferably in a mining, construction, or industrial setting.
- Familiarity with the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and equipment.
- Practical experience using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems to enter and track inventory, purchase orders, and supplier data.
- Comfortable working with software to track shipments, manage inventory, and resolve discrepancies.
- Certification and experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other site material handling equipment.
- Experience loading, unloading, and moving materials in a safe and efficient manner.
- Experience working closely with logistics teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of materials to the job site.
- Previous experience coordinating with vendors and suppliers to resolve issues and ensure smooth deliveries.
- Ability to track and monitor inventory levels, and identify and resolve discrepancies between recorded and actual inventory.
- Experience in maintaining material stock levels for ongoing projects.
Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena's Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
Compensation
The expected range for this position is CAD $40-48/per hour in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.
