JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Senior Manager, People & Culture, the People & Culture Generalist plays a key role in fostering a positive, supportive, and engaging workplace culture. This position supports a broad range of People & Culture initiatives, including training and development, compensation, employee relations, policy development, and company-wide programs designed to enhance the employee experience and strengthen organizational effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Design, organize, and facilitate employee and manager training programs to enhance skills, productivity, and team effectiveness.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and onboarding.
- Support annual compensation reviews and assist in administering bonus programs.
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze feedback, and recommend retention and engagement strategies.
- Provide guidance to managers on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct investigations into complaints or policy violations, maintaining confidentiality and fairness.
- Develop, implement, and update People & Culture (P&C) policies and procedures in alignment with legal and organizational standards.
- Manage accommodation requests and leaves of absence, ensuring compliance and operational balance.
- Administer termination processes in compliance with legislation and company policy.
- Support performance management processes, including goal-setting, evaluations, and feedback.
- Collaborate across departments to support organizational initiatives and special projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in HR, with strong grounding in employee relations, learning, and HR operations.
- Solid understanding of employment legislations and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibits strong emotional intelligence and the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, empathy, and sound judgment.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP) and MS Office Suite.
- CHRP designation (or in progress) is an asset.
