The Community Living Society (CLS) is an innovative non-profit organization which since 1978 has been dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that they can live full, productive and meaningful lives. Home Share Coordinators are professionals, leaders, and form part of the CLS management team. This position is accountable to actively work with the Administration team including other Director(s), as assigned.
About the OpportunityIn co-operation with the individual, their networks, their home share provider and team, the Home Share Coordinator will:
- Maintain thoroughness and attention to detail in every aspect of the job.
- Cooperate with the Director of Programs to role-model and actively apply the CLS values, policies, and procedures in an ethical, caring, and professional manner, through sound knowledge of all these aspects.
- Educate contractors and employees regarding the Safety Program Binder and other documents in an ethical, caring, and professional manner, through sound knowledge of all these aspects.
- Attend meetings as scheduled by the Director, and punctually; participate in a positive and respectful manner.
- Arrive on time for scheduled appointments and activities.
- Present a positive and welcoming attitude regardless of personal or professional situations.
- Role-model professionalism at all times, and coach others in a respectful way
- Create and maintain an environment that is emotionally healthy for people to live in by treating all individuals with compassion and respect. The Home Share Coordinator will constantly monitor the quality of this environment.
The position includes but is not limited to the following duties:

- Monday to Friday - 9am to 5pm
- Flexibility is necessary for weekends
You are interested in supporting others and show an understanding of the person-centered and active support approach. Additionally, you have the following requirements:
Required:- Class 5 driver's license (permanent staff must be willing to obtain a Class 4 license)
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Clear criminal record (paid by CLS)
- Clean driver's abstract
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Comfortable using transit systems
- Ability to maneuver a wheel chair
- Experience high behavioral support
- Prior paid or volunteer experience
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training
- Mandt System®
- Knowledge of Person Centered Active Supports
- Swimming
