Job SummaryThe SWBD Electrical Assembler I is responsible for wiring, mounting, and troubleshooting complex electrical components and sub-assemblies for custom switchboards. This role requires a strong understanding of one-line diagrams and hands-on experience with medium to complex electrical wiring. Ideal for candidates who excel beyond basic harness-style or standardized layouts.Key Responsibilities
  1. Read and interpret one-line diagrams and customer drawing packages.
  2. Determine optimal wiring routes and connections for electrical devices (e.g., breakers, relays, meters, PLCs, CTs, switches, sensors).
  3. Identify schematic/design issues and escalate appropriately.
  4. Maintain industry standards in wire organization, voltage separation, and color coding.
  5. Conduct functional testing (e.g., continuity checks, wire pull tests).
  6. Perform rework or repairs as required after inspections or functional tests.
  7. Ensure compliance with CSA and UL codes.
  8. Maintain accuracy in KANBAN and MRB systems.
  9. Assist with other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in medium to complex non-standard wiring.
  3. Ability to read and interpret one-line electrical diagramse
  4. Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
  5. Must reside within 80 KM of Milton, ON.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
  2. Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  3. Familiarity with manufacturing facility electrical, mechanical, and safety operations.
  4. Proficient in layout, wiring, and troubleshooting of industrial power/control components.
  5. Knowledge of proper electrical connection methods.
  6. Strong multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments.
  7. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Solid organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  10. Time and project management skills.
