As an Designer, Electrical VDC you:

  • Develop detailed electrical installation drawings, in Revit, based on engineering drawings, project specifications, construction design plan instructions, rough notes, and rough sketches to ensure the best installation outcome.
  • Develop installation drawings for a wide range of electrical building systems such as power distribution, branch power and lighting, fire alarm, security, communications and other specialty systems.
  • Interact and collaborate with the project team to develop drawings efficiently and accurately while maintaining any time and schedule constraints.
  • Develop drawings showing the necessary details and assemblies of a wide variety of electrical equipment with details such as dimensions, fastening methods, slab coordinates and other required information.
  • Model and coordinate electrical infrastructure e.g. cabletrays, sleeving, electrical equipment, etc. resolving all model clashes with other trades.
  • Navigate through and interpret structural, architectural, electrical and mechanical drawings for various occupancy types and spaces.
  • Perform technical calculations including and not limited to voltage drop, conduit fill.
  • Review design drawings and provide feedback to ensure requirements are met.
  • Understand and comply with the project schedule to submit deliverables and implement changes and revisions as required.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems from both the design and installation perspectives including: power distribution, branch power and lighting, fire safety, security and communications systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk products including Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC platform.
  • An understanding of the uses of drawing levels, references files, various CAD tools, scaling, dimensioning and cross-sectional interpolations
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives within a plan and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
