Working with individuals who self-identify as women and who access My Sisters' Place (MSP), the Addiction and Mental Health Worker (AMHW) will provide supports, interventions and services that are consistent with a trauma and violence informed, gender specific, harm reduction and psychosocial model of care. The AMHW will provide supports in a manner that engenders a safe and welcoming environment for women who experience the intersectionality of multiple complexities and vulnerabilities including mental health, trauma and violence, addictions, homelessness and housing instability, poverty and chronic health issues. - What you'll be making: Starting rate for this role is $27.14 per hour (Level 1 – Direct Service), with a wage differential, based on regulation ($30.01 per hour for Level 1 – Direct Service, Regulated):
- Successful candidates who are registered with one of the designated professional colleges (e.g. OCSWSSW, CNO, COTO, CRPO, CPSO, or CPO) will receive the wage differential for regulation
- Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($34.41 per hour for non-regulated, and $37.26 per hour for regulated)
- For internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement
- When you'll work - 70 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday day shifts

Support Services:
• Provide a welcoming, safe, and trusting environment
• Engage with women who experience barriers to access and develop relationships of trust
• Provide triage, initial screening and assessment, information and referrals
• Provide mental health, trauma, addictions and harm reduction supports
• Provide safety planning to reduce risk and harm
• Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution and negotiation skills as necessary
• Assist women to link and liaise with all programs and resources within MSP
• Employ a community development and strengths-based approach
• Connect and liaise with appropriate community partners and resources
• Protect and promote the welfare, dignity, and individual rights of women at all times
• Provide basic needs, as required, following My Sisters' Place procedures
Housing Support Services:
• Support clients to secure housing of their choice
• Champion each participant's individual capacity for independent community living
• Advocate, refer and connect clients with appropriate housing services, supports, and resources (formal and informal) based on their needs
• Support landlords as necessary in conjunction with the participant, provision of landlord mediation where appropriate
• Motivate and support client to work towards achievement of their needs/goals
• Assist clients to successfully remain in their housing, providing prevention and diversion strategies to avoid homelessness
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:
Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 2 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.
We require the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in social services or related field (Primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process, i.e. original degree/diploma/certificate or official transcript)
- Driver's License, access to a vehicle and adequate insurance to transport clients
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
- First Aid / CPR
- Experience using harm reduction, feminist, relational/cultural and recovery theories
- Knowledge of community resources
- Crisis intervention and prevention training
- Applied Suicide Interventions Skills and Training
- Safe Food Handling
