Purpose

The Finishing Foreman is responsible for overseeing all finishing activities on residential apartment projects, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role provides leadership on-site, coordinates with project teams, and applies hands-on carpentry skills to deliver superior finishing results that meet project specifications and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage all finishing tasks on residential apartment projects.

  • Ensure work is completed according to drawings, specifications, and company standards.

  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other trades.

  • Conduct regular inspections to maintain high-quality workmanship.

  • Identify and correct deficiencies or issues promptly.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite.

  • Develop, monitor, and update project schedules for finishing activities.

  • Ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.

  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

  • Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Manage procurement, ordering, and inventory of finishing materials and equipment.

  • Optimize use of resources to minimize waste and control costs.

Role-Specific Requirements (Carpentry & Finishing Skills)
  • Perform hands-on carpentry tasks including trim work, cabinetry, fixture installation, and drywall finishing.

  • Measure, cut, assemble, and install finishing materials such as doors, windows, baseboards, and moldings.

  • Repair or replace damaged finishing and structural components.

  • Ensure precise alignment, fit, and finish of all carpentry and finishing work.

  • Safely operate and maintain hand tools and power tools.

  • Read, interpret, and execute work from blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.

  • Collaborate with other trades to ensure seamless integration of finishing elements.

  • Provide expert carpentry guidance and support to the construction team.

General Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman, Lead Carpenter, or similar role in residential construction.

  • Strong knowledge of finishing techniques, materials, and best practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively.

  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

  • Physical ability to perform carpentry and finishing tasks as required.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
