Role Overview
Reporting to the Director, Commercial Sales & Service, BFC, the Commercial Account Manager (CAM) Trainee follows a program of education and skills development to develop, build and retain business relationships by promoting, selling and negotiating business banking services to members and potential members. The CAM Trainee is responsible for proactively identifying and pursuing new sources of business and referring that business to the appropriate specialist within the credit union. They contribute positively to the Business Financial Centre's goals and objectives and that members receive seamless, quality sales and service that meets or exceeds their expectations at all times.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
· Responsible to conduct interviews to identifying member needs to promote, sell, and negotiate business-banking products and services to members and prospective members.
· Responsible and accountable for providing business-banking financial consulting and advice to members and referring them to other staff or specialists within the credit union as necessary.
· Responsible and accountable to conduct credit investigations, security inspections and searches, release security on paid out loans, interpret loan reports and identify further action required to address any problem areas.
· Responsible for ensuring profitability of loan through application and negotiation of rates, application and commitment fees, service charges, overdue interests, deposit rates and other non-credit services within the parameters of the competitive market place and departmental policies and practices.
· Responsible and accountable for evaluating and approving commercial lines of credits, mortgages, letters of credit and other loan applications within approved lending limits.
· Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all credit union policies, procedures , internal controls, pertaining to credit and other areas of assigned portfolio are followed and reported on as required.
· Accountable for maintaining current and relevant knowledge of industry trends, local and national events, competitor products and strategies.
· Act as a representative for the Credit Union and the Business & Community Financial Centre by being visible in the community and using skills and experience to support community groups and initiatives.
· Responsible for supporting Assiniboine Credit Union's Community Development initiatives by working in partnerships with the Manager, Community Economic Development.
· Responsible for demonstrating support for workplace-diversity and respectful workplace initiatives.
· Understands, respects, and supports ACU's commitment to corporate social responsibility.
· Employees are required to keep strictly confidential the affairs of anyone whose private information becomes available to them in the course of their duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience
The competencies for the position would typically be acquired through a Bachelor's degree or diploma in business or related discipline, plus three to five years of job related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LOCATION & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is anticipated to be a hybrid role.
This position requires to support St. Claude and Elie, MB areas.
