G.L. Smith was founded in 1984 to offer modern, practical and striking interior design to retail clients. Today, were at the forefront of interior design and development, with roughly 100 full-time employees and growing!
Our roster of leading retailers spans a range of industries and includes some of Canadas biggest, most recognizable brands. We currently work on more than400 projects annually almost an average of one project each day of the year! Serving Canadas retail industry for more than three decades, we provide customized, cost-efficient interior design, engineering and expert project management capabilities.

What you bring to the table
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare structural design and calculation complying with CSA standards
- Write technical reports
- Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties
- Review shop drawings
- CAD drafting as required
Professional Qualifications / Education
- Engineering degree with focus on Structural Engineering
- Licensed Structural Engineer
Experience
- 3+ years of structural engineering design experience
- Knowledge of Canadian building codes
- Knowledge of CSA concrete, structural steel and timber design standards
Skills
- Familiarity with CSI analysis program (SAFE, ETABS & SAP2000) preferred
- Familiar with AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Revit an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
