Qualifications
As a volunteer for the Tech Club program, reporting to the program manager and working under the direction of the Branch Librarian, this volunteer position models BPL's values in all interactions with customers while supporting their technology needs. The Tech Club program is facilitated by Programming staff, with volunteers assisting participants during both large and small group instructional sessions by supporting practice activities and enhancing the learning experience.

Qualifications
- Comfort and confidence using and demonstrating basic technology applications and devices (i.e. - smartphones, tablets, laptops).
- Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age at the time of starting the volunteer placement.

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide tech assistance and support to participants of the Tech Club program under the leadership of the Program Lead
- Assist customers with the use of a variety of devices, operating systems, and applications.
- Commit to consistent attendance at all program sessions to help ensure the program's effectiveness and continuity.
- Offer guidance in a way that builds confidence and fosters learning
- Maintain regular communication with the Program Lead to share feedback and ensure clarity on weekly objectives and tasks
- Deliver assistance in a patient, respectful, and inclusive manner to create a welcoming learning environment.

External: Customers

- Volunteer hours will be completed in library spaces, while customers and library staff are present, with little exposure to noise, dirt, or external elements.
- Physical work such as moving, changing, and setting up for programs (i.e. - tables and chairs)
- There is communication via email
- One three-hour session weekly for a six-week period on Thursdays from October 2nd to November 6th
- Normal physical activity such as periodic standing, walking, sitting and the use of basic motor skills.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and diplomatic demeanor at all times
